Ukko, Ukko-Jumala, Jumbel, Jumo
In finnish culture, Jumala, a finnish word meaning god, was used much before christian religion influence of the finnish supreme god who was over everything. He has been assosiated many times with Ukko – god.
Intresting fact is, that a finnish cursing word “perkele”, what is also included in bible in the meaning of the devil, was also the name of the finnish supreme god long before christianity conquered Finland and wrote the bible translation in finnish.
Ukko is a finnish god of lightning and thunder. Thunder is said to occur when Ukko drives a stony road with his carriages so fast that the sparkles fly.
Ukko ascended to the supreme god who was put faith on in ilnesses and curing bleeding wound.
