Used to help with diarrhea and convulsions for its contracting effect in mucous membranes. Helps with anemia and scurvy. Used to stimulate appetite, as a laxative and to heal tumors. Affects to skin diseases and increases bile excretion.
Roots and sometimes leaves are the parts used.
