I'm new here. Could you guys point me to some good articles or threads about different stones and their uses? thanks

When I was a little girl in Lanesville, MA there was a hollow tree trunk in my back yard. I used it as my hut. I would take the leaves off the lilac bushes and then take the lilac flowers and squeeze the nectar out of each one onto the leaf and leave them for the fairies in the morning.
Also I used to go up in my attic and sit at this big black table and make potions. I would mix anything I could find in the kitchen and around the house, with a brocade curtain over my shoulder as a cape, I was raised catholic, and I never believed in it as a child so I joined the choir so I didn't have to kneel or give up my quarter to the collection. I also was the only catholic kid in my neighborhood and I hung around with their church youth group, the Lutherans. We were all Finnish, my dad and all my aunts and cousins etc. so I decided I would be all Finn and become a recovering catholic. When I was small I would take my friends (Lutheran) to my attic and I would be the priest wearing the brocade curtains. I gave them communion from flattened wonder bread. that was the best kind to make the host, rolmffo!!! I also put a dot of ashes on the kids fore heads to make it look like ash Wednesday, I got the mostly out of my MoM's ashtray when she wasn't

I just always knew I was born a witch I just did not realize what was going on as a child. I was always drawn to the sky, moon. and planets. Also the Ocean and forest. I was Lucky enough to live on the ocean and I still do. When I swim I feel like the Goddess has me wrapped in her arms. It is so healing in so many ways.

I am grateful for all I have, Of course we all want things we can't have but we just have to be really grateful for all we have in our lives. We're very lucky to have these computers to share our thoughts. Some people have a hard time finding water......we are truly blessed for all we have. Another thought is today while your out and about, smile at everyone, you'll be surprised at the people that smile back, and one person said us smiling at him was life changing for him. So ask the God and Goddess for help and smile smile smile!!!!

I'm Merrie, female, mid-40's. I live in the southeastern US, where Christian based fear runs rampant.

I was raised Catholic in California - in a nice Italian family, and then explored other forms of Christianity, tho none of them ever really fit right. Like that cute shoe that pinches your toe, or rubs your heel.

I met a Wiccan about 15 years ago who loaned me a lot of his books...Scott Cunningham's Guide for the Solitary Practitioner was one, and Silver Ravenwolf's To Ride a Silver Broomstick were two of my favorites. During this time, I started meditating, and "tinkering" with candle magick, and much to my amazement, I found that it was actually working!

Went through a divorce and a lot of life changes since then, and as with a lot of things, my spirituality got tossed to the side. Several years ago I met one of my best friends doing a head shot for one of her books. We hit it off, and it turns out she is very active in Voodoo (yet another terribly misunderstood path), and I found my spirituality, once again.

I am now rolling alone in my Craft, but have the support of my dear friend when I need advice, or just to vent, because, you know...in these parts? Folks like us? We're goin' to hell. *rolling eyes*

In my professional life, I am a free-lance photographer and do have an office job, as well.

I look forward to getting to know everyone! I can't even find a local "meetup" group in my neck of the woods...
