There is no certain information about god Adonis. He appears in greek and roman mythologies and his name is adonis what also means "Lord", which appears in old testament. He was originally considered as a son of Phoenix and Aephesiboen, when Apollodorus calls him as a son of Cinyras and Metharme.

One story tells that Adonis was borned when Afrodite slept in the forest as a tree who was stung with an arrow. Other story tells she was borned when a wild boar crushes the tree from where adonis was borned. After birth of the Adonis afrodite was so moved of his beauty that she gave Adonis to be protected by the Persephone.
